Eccentrica has unveiled its highly anticipated V12 Roadster at The Quail, part of the Monterey Car Week festivities. This bespoke vehicle, based on the first-series Lamborghini Diablo, redefines the iconic supercar while retaining its outrageous charm.
The open-top restomod features a staggering 3,500 custom components, crafted in collaboration with Milan's Borromeo De Silva. Instead of merely removing the roof, Eccentrica has meticulously reengineered the car’s structure, combining steel and carbon fiber to create a robust and aerodynamic open cabin.
Under the hood lies a reworked 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, delivering 550 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The Roadster boasts a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) and is equipped with a six-speed gated manual transmission, alongside three distinct driving modes for varying road conditions.
Leading the engineering efforts is Maurizio Reggiani, a former Lamborghini chief technical officer. His team has prioritized enhancing the driving experience, modifying the suspension and steering for a more responsive feel. The V12 Roadster emphasizes what Eccentrica dubs 'analogue emotion,' valuing mechanical sensations over digital distractions.
Inside, the cabin features a luxurious blend of Connolly leather, Alcantara, and anodized materials, allowing for personalized configurations. Eccentrica plans to produce only 19 unique examples, ensuring each car is tailored to its owner. This striking Roadster exemplifies a balance of homage and innovation, making a bold statement in the automotive world.
