Lamborghini Unleashes the Revuelto SV: A Supercar Redefined

Lamborghini has elevated its flagship Revuelto to new heights with the introduction of the SV trim, standing for Superveloce, or 'super fast.' This latest version of the Revuelto embodies the very essence of what it means to experience the thrill of driving.

Alessandro Farmeschi, product line director for the Revuelto, describes the concept of the 'quantum of driving'—a state where driver and machine merge into a single entity, allowing the driver to fully embrace the adrenaline rush of acceleration and braking. 'You forget about the rest because you are so concentrated and you enjoy so much this experience,' he explains.

The Revuelto SV isn’t just a minor upgrade; it’s a robust enhancement of an already impressive vehicle. Featuring a hybrid-electric powertrain that combines a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 with three electric motors, the SV boasts an output of 1,065 cv (approximately 1,050 hp), marking an impressive increase of 50 hp over the standard model. This is achieved through an upgraded battery package that enhances both energy capacity and power output.

Aside from sheer power, the Revuelto SV promises a more consistent performance, particularly during intense driving sessions. The revised transmission allows for a 30 percent faster shifting time, leading to a more immediate acceleration response. Extensive use of carbon fiber throughout the vehicle significantly reduces weight, contributing to a power-to-weight ratio of 1.66 kg/CV, a notable improvement from the standard Revuelto's 1.75 kg/CV.

Enhancements extend to aerodynamics as well, with downforce increased by 80 percent thanks to a redesigned front bumper and rear wing. This results in greater stability during cornering, enabling an astonishing 0-62 mph time of just 2.4 seconds, placing it in league with Lamborghini’s previous fastest model, the limited-edition Fenomeno.

To complement the heightened acceleration, Lamborghini has introduced a new braking system, the CCM-R Plus, which features larger, thicker discs for better cooling and improved performance under stress. This allows for harder and later braking, essential for high-speed driving.

For those who relish track days, the Revuelto SV introduces a new Pilota mode, inspired by Lamborghini's GT racing program. This mode offers five levels of sensitivity adjustments to the car’s stability systems, catering to varied driving styles.

While Lamborghini has abandoned plans for a fully electric sports car, it remains committed to hybrid technology. The electric motors enhance torque vectoring and overall driving dynamics. Additionally, the hybrid system allows for a silent departure from home, covering approximately 15 kilometers (10 miles) on electric power alone, ideal for quiet neighborhood drives.

As for pricing, while Lamborghini hasn’t revealed the exact figures, industry experts anticipate that the Revuelto SV will start at around $750,000, well above the base model’s $612,000 price tag.
