Falkland Islands Unveils New Gentoo Penguin Postcard Stamps

The Falkland Islands has launched a captivating set of airmail postcard rate stamps, showcasing a stunning Gentoo Penguin photograph by Sara Jenner. Each booklet contains ten stamps, priced at £1.60 per postcard.

Jenner, who has spent the last decade as an expedition leader on ships and worked on the fisheries patrol vessel Pharos SG during the pandemic, captured the image during a two-week trip around the islands earlier this year. She described the moment: "A beautiful sunset emerged after a typically overcast Falklands afternoon, creating a wonderful backdrop along the beach with curious gentoo penguin chicks."

Expressing her passion, Jenner remarked, "Wildlife is my love and photography my frustration," emphasizing her deep connection to the Falklands and its unique wildlife. The stamps were officially released this month.
