Federal Investigation Launched Into GM Brake Failures

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is intensifying its investigation into General Motors (GM) vehicles amid numerous reports of brake failures affecting over 1.1 million cars. This includes a range of GM’s electric models and vehicles produced for Honda and Acura.
The issue centers on GM's brake-by-wire system, known as eBoost, which is susceptible to spindle fractures. While GM claims that critical safety features remain operational, contradicting reports suggest that these failures can lead to an immediate loss of braking, raising serious safety concerns.
