FiiO Launches Innovative Cassette Player to Revive a Classic Format

As cassette tapes enjoy a renaissance similar to vinyl records, FiiO has unveiled the CP11, a player designed specifically for this vintage format. After two years of research and development, this pocket-sized device aims to enhance the cassette listening experience.
The journey to the CP11 was not straightforward. Originally, FiiO intended to introduce the more advanced CP15 first, but engineering complexities led to a pivot. The CP11 was prioritized to ensure that enthusiasts could access cutting-edge playback technology sooner.
What sets the CP11 apart is its ultra-thin design, making it more portable than the bulky players currently available. Its sophisticated internal mechanism includes a brushless motor and an upgraded magnetic head, promising stable, high-fidelity playback. Additionally, the inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity allows users to enjoy their favorite mixtapes wirelessly, a feature absent in previous FiiO models.
The CP11 sports a minimalist aesthetic, available in shades of cream, green, and silver, with a user-replaceable battery hatch—an essential nod to the culture of cassette listening. Charging is made convenient with USB-C, and tactile controls keep the experience authentic. While pricing details remain under wraps, the CP11 is expected to retail similarly to FiiO's CP13, which falls in the $99 to $110 range, and aims for a late 2026 release. This new player could be the catalyst the cassette revival has been waiting for.
