Floating Points Unveils 'Mere Mortals', a Ballet Score Exploring Pandora's Myth

Floating Points has released his latest album, 'Mere Mortals', a score inspired by a ballet that premieres at the Edinburgh International Festival tonight, August 28.
Originally commissioned by the San Francisco Ballet, the score reflects on the myth of Pandora, who, according to composer Sam Shepherd, represents curiosity and transformation despite often being portrayed negatively.
The ballet features choreography by Aszure Barton and concludes with the poignant track 'Nowhere to Land', highlighting themes of loss and hope.
