Kazuya Yamachika, the visionary behind Ancellm, is challenging conventional fabric design since founding the brand in 2020. Known for his unconventional approaches, he has surprised textile factories with requests like shrinking leather.
Operating from Japan’s acclaimed Kojima region, Ancellm has quickly become a favorite, now featured in approximately 90 retailers globally, including a flagship store in Tokyo. This season, rather than a traditional runway show, the brand unveiled its lookbook in a glass-walled train station, capturing the transition from day to night.
The collection showcases a refined aesthetic, integrating washed-out hues and vibrant accents of sunset orange and dusty pink. Notably, Yamachika has transformed Gobelin fabric by loosening its weave, creating stylish, lightweight pieces that maintain intricate patterns.
