Fortuny Launches First Wallpaper Collection in Collaboration with San Patrignano

MILAN — Renowned for its luxurious fabrics, Fortuny is set to unveil its inaugural wallpaper collection, a venture made possible through a partnership with the historic rehabilitation community San Patrignano.

Located in Rimini, San Patrignano operates the largest halfway house in Europe, providing support to individuals battling drug addiction since 1978. The collaboration focuses on the Casa D’Arte project, which empowers its members with luxury-level craftsmanship skills.

The new wallpaper designs are entirely handcrafted, featuring finishes inspired by marble, lime wash, and embossed leather. Each piece is customizable, allowing for unique combinations of materials, colors, and textures. This collection draws from Fortuny’s rich archive of decorative prints and will debut at the Fortuny showroom on Giudecca during the Homo Faber in Città event, kicking off in Venice on Tuesday.

Founded in 1921 by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo, the brand, now led by brothers Mickey and Maury Riad, aims to explore new design avenues through wallpaper. "Wallpaper is a natural extension for us," said Mickey Riad, emphasizing its ability to complement existing collections. The collection is designed for both residential and hospitality settings, with live demonstrations of the crafting techniques planned for September 8, 22, and 29.
