Ghislaine Maxwell's Appeal Denied: Sex Trafficking Conviction Upheld

Ghislaine Maxwell's attempts to overturn her sex trafficking conviction have been thwarted by a US federal judge. Convicted in 2021 for facilitating the exploitation of underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein, Maxwell will continue her 20-year prison sentence.

Judge Paul Engelmayer dismissed her claims of constitutional rights violations during her trial as "meritless" and largely "frivolous." Maxwell, 64, remains the sole individual convicted in connection with the infamous Epstein, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial.

The ruling comes amid renewed scrutiny of Epstein's associations with powerful figures, including Prince Andrew. Despite being subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee in February, Maxwell refused to cooperate unless granted clemency by former President Trump, who had previously faced accusations of covering up Epstein-related investigations.
