Gold Medalists Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara Celebrate Engagement

Celebrated Japanese figure skating pair Riku Miura, 24, and Ryuichi Kihara, 34, have announced their engagement, sharing the news on social media on Sunday. The couple, who recently triumphed at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, posted a heartfelt message alongside a photo of Kihara proposing on a skating rink.

In their joint statement, they expressed their deep bond, saying, “Over time, we became irreplaceable parts of each other’s lives.” They aim to support each other as they embark on this new chapter together.

Since teaming up in 2019, Miura and Kihara have clinched numerous titles, including a gold medal at the 2025 World Championships, and dramatically won the Olympic gold after overcoming a fifth-place position in the short program.
