Google Confirms Tensor G6 in Pixel 11 Series is 3nm, Not 2nm

By Editor • August 14, 2026 • 1 min read

In a recent announcement, Google clarified that the Tensor G6 chip powering the new Pixel 11 series smartphones is based on TSMC's 3nm technology, not 2nm as previously speculated.

Peng Yu-Chun, Google's VP of Hardware, provided this update, noting that last year's Tensor G5 also utilized the 3nm process. Despite the absence of a 2nm chip, the Tensor G6 boasts significant enhancements, offering 50% more TPU compute and a 30% increase in CPU power efficiency over its predecessor.

The Pixel 11 series includes four models: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
