Heavens to Betsy Drops Long-Lost Demos Ahead of Upcoming Album

Reunited punk duo Heavens to Betsy, featuring Corin Tucker and Tracy Sawyer, is set to release their first album since 1994. Titled Baby's Gone, this archival collection will be launched by Kill Rock Stars on October 16.

The album includes eight previously unreleased demos recorded in 1992, along with tracks from their 1993 and 1994 EPs, totaling 16 songs. The lead single, “Ain’t Never Goin’ Back,” showcases the duo's enduring relevance as they tackle themes like rape culture and intersectional politics.

As Sawyer reflects, “I wasn’t sure if I would ever revisit heavens to betsy… it just seemed like the perfect opportunity.” The collaboration with Bratmobile’s Molly Neuman for the demo recording highlights the community's support for young women’s self-expression. Tucker praises Neuman’s leadership and confidence, emphasizing the importance of these themes to today's audiences.
