Nashville's Odyssey Entertainment Group has announced the launch of Odyssey Originals, a new division aimed at collaborating with creators to develop content while allowing them to retain ownership of their intellectual property.
Founded in 2021 by Nicole Kasper and Paige Kosinski, Odyssey Entertainment initially focused on management and brand partnerships across various sectors, including lifestyle and comedy. With Odyssey Originals, the company is venturing into production.
Kasper emphasized the company's commitment to supporting creators, stating, “Helping someone achieve their dream shouldn’t cost them anything.” Kosinski added that their talent will build franchises and own their creations, reflecting their ethos of prioritizing legacy over social media metrics.
Odyssey Originals will collaborate with existing production entities like King Jester, which specializes in comedy, and SickBird Productions, known for podcasts and digital series. SickBird CEO Jade Watson highlighted the importance of a creator-first model, stating that the future of entertainment hinges on empowering creatives.
King Jester aims to nurture comedic talents, with upcoming projects featuring comedians such as Courtney Michelle and Antonio Baldwin, and emphasizes the personal connection creators have to their work.
