High-Profile Lawyer Arrested in London on Sexual Assault Charges

Vijay Aggarwal, a criminal lawyer known for his representation of fugitive Indian businessman Mehul Choksi, has been charged with four counts of sexual assault following his arrest in London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges on August 20, 2026, after Aggarwal was taken into custody on August 11 at a luxury property in Mayfair.
During the court proceedings at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Aggarwal was remanded in custody until his next court appearance at Southwark Crown Court on September 10. His assistant, Manpreet Kaur, was also arrested and faces two charges related to encouraging or assisting sexual assault.
The alleged incidents reportedly took place in May and August. The police stated that two additional individuals present at the property were released on bail as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the two women who reported the assaults are receiving support from specialized officers.
