In a stunning debut, Joshua Báez etched his name in Major League history by hitting three home runs in his first three at-bats, leading the St. Louis Cardinals to an 8-4 triumph over the Chicago Cubs.
The 23-year-old left fielder, who was just called up from Triple-A Memphis, wasted no time making an impact, launching his first pitch into the bleachers at Wrigley Field. Báez's impressive performance included five RBIs.
Blaze Jordan and Alec Burleson also contributed with solo homers, while Michael Conforto hit a three-run shot for the Cubs. Michael McGreevy secured his first win since July 8, striking out six in six innings.
