Hulu has decided not to renew the comedy series "Not Suitable for Work," created by Mindy Kaling, after its initial run of nine episodes. The show, which premiered in June, featured a cast including Ella Hunt, Avantika, and Jay Ellis, and depicted the lives of ambitious 20-somethings navigating their careers and personal lives in Manhattan's Murray Hill.
Produced by Kaling's Kaling International alongside Warner Bros. Television, the series marked Kaling's first solo creator credit since her hit show "The Mindy Project." Despite its promising premise, reviews were mixed, with Variety noting it contained moments that hinted at a sharper commentary on the challenges faced by young professionals.
Warner Bros. TV is now seeking a new platform for the series, following the cancellation. The ensemble cast also included guest appearances from familiar faces like Constance Wu and Victor Garber.
