‘Ice Princess’ Director Remembers Hayden Panettiere as a Bright Talent

Tim Fywell, director of the beloved 2005 film Ice Princess, expressed his sorrow over the passing of Hayden Panettiere at just 36 years old. In a heartfelt statement, he reflected on their collaboration over two decades ago, highlighting her vibrant spirit.

Fywell recalled Panettiere’s role as the fierce rival-turned-friend to Michelle Trachtenberg’s character, Casey Carlyle. Tragically, Trachtenberg also left us last year at the age of 39. The director noted how their chemistry brought a unique energy to the set.

“Michelle and Hayden were an amazing pair,” he stated, praising their contrasting personalities. “In what was often a tough shoot, they were delightful to work with.” He concluded with a poignant reminder of their shared journey, stating, “Two shining talents, gone far too soon.”
