IFA 2026: A Showcase of Functional Robotics and AI Integration

By Editor • August 31, 2026 • 2 min read

This September, Berlin transforms into a bustling hub for technology enthusiasts as IFA 2026 takes place from September 4 to 8. The event will span 27 halls at Messe Berlin, featuring over 1,900 brands and attracting approximately 220,000 visitors. This year’s theme, "The Future Is Now," promises to deliver more than just flashy presentations, with an emphasis on robots that are ready for real-world application.

Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management since 2023, shared insights on the evolution of technology at the event. He noted a significant shift in focus from showcasing AI as a standalone feature to integrating it seamlessly into everyday products like refrigerators and earbuds. He explains, "Today, the better question is, what does AI actually enable?" The emphasis now lies on how AI enhances functionality, rather than merely its presence.

Humanoid robots will take center stage at IFA 2026, particularly during the "Robots on the Runway" event on September 5. Leading the charge are numerous Chinese companies like Unitree and DEEP Robotics, which have capitalized on a robust supply chain and manufacturing capabilities. Lindner acknowledges this advantage but also highlights Europe's strengths in engineering and responsible tech development, pointing to NEURA Robotics as a prime example of European innovation.

A notable highlight of the show is AiMOGA's humanoid robot, Mornine, which has received full EU CE certification. This makes it the first humanoid robot fully compliant with EU regulations, establishing a benchmark for commercial viability in Europe. Lindner regards this milestone as a clear distinction between mere demonstrations and products ready for market deployment.

Behind the scenes, the meticulous planning that ensures the safe and effective presentation of these technologies cannot be overstated. Lindner emphasizes the importance of responsible demonstrations, particularly when showcasing a 70-kilo humanoid robot. He concludes, "When you put a 70-kilo humanoid robot in front of a live audience, you want the excitement to be on the stage, not behind it." This sentiment encapsulates the essence of IFA 2026, where the focus is firmly on practical innovation rather than mere spectacle.
