Iran Unveils Significant Gas Discovery Amid Ongoing Conflict

In a noteworthy announcement, Iran has revealed the discovery of over 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the southern Fars province, with more than 160 billion cubic meters deemed recoverable.

This discovery comes as the nation grapples with ongoing disruptions to its energy sector due to US-Israeli strikes affecting gas facilities and transport routes.

Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad described the newly found reserves as sweet natural gas, characterized by minimal hydrogen sulfide, leading to reduced development costs. However, experts indicate that production from this site may take years to materialize.
