From Paris to Hollywood, Louis dressed some of the biggest stars, including Rita Hayworth and Joan Crawford, and won an Academy Award for his work on the 1956 film The Solid Gold Cadillac.

The volume features a foreword by Kim Novak and showcases original sketches and unseen archival materials. While Louis’s legacy is often tied to Monroe’s dress, his influence on Hollywood glamour is profound and far-reaching, paving the way for future daring fashion statements. The dress itself, a scandalous illusion of nudity, sold for a staggering $4.8 million at auction in 2016, illustrating its lasting impact.
