In a scathing segment on HBO's "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver lampooned Donald Trump's recent airplane switch during a NATO summit in Turkey. The controversy arose when Trump allegedly swapped his plane for a smaller military jet due to security concerns about a possible Iranian threat.
Oliver humorously pointed out the absurdity of Trump sneaking away on a catering truck, joking that the next time he needs a quick getaway, the ruse will be far less effective. "People are going to be suspicious… if they see a plane go one way, a catering truck go another," he quipped.
Adding to the hilarity, Oliver noted that many staffers and journalists, including Marco Rubio, remained on the original plane, highlighting the potential danger posed to them. The segment aired shortly before White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced her resignation.
