LG Partners with Nvidia to Revolutionize AI Robotics and Self-Driving Technology

In a significant move towards enhancing artificial intelligence, LG Corp. has announced a partnership with Nvidia, highlighted by a memorandum signed by LG's Chairman and CEO Kwang Mo Koo and Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang at Nvidia's headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

Among the most exciting developments from this collaboration is LG’s plan to introduce a humanoid robot by the first quarter of 2027. This innovative bipedal robot will utilize Nvidia’s Jetson Thor for processing and the Isaac GR00T model for reasoning.

On a more immediate note, LG is set to deploy its CLOiD wheeled robot in its washing machine manufacturing facility in Tennessee later this year. The company aims to refine CLOiD's skills in this environment before expanding its use to global manufacturing sites and potentially into homes and commercial settings.

Additionally, LG is investing in an AI data center expected to be operational in the first half of 2027. This facility will utilize Nvidia’s Vera Rubin technology, ultimately leading to the establishment of an advanced AI Factory in Cheonan by 2028. This factory aims to produce AI models for LG’s robots and offer solutions for other entities looking to develop large-scale AI data centers.

LG is also venturing into the self-driving vehicle sector, planning to develop AI-Defined Vehicles leveraging Nvidia’s Drive Hyperion technology. This initiative aims to provide global OEMs with innovative hardware that combines self-driving capabilities with in-cabin AI functionalities.

Both Koo and Huang expressed their enthusiasm for this partnership, focusing on the potential to reshape various aspects of daily life through advanced robotics and AI.
