Liverpool has successfully finalized a deal with Paris St-Germain for forward Bradley Barcola, valued at up to £123 million. Initially priced at £145 million by PSG, the agreement includes an upfront payment of £106 million, supplemented by £17 million in potential add-ons.
The 23-year-old winger, who predominantly plays on the left flank, is anticipated to undergo a medical examination this weekend before committing to a long-term contract at Anfield. Barcola's arrival raises questions about Cody Gakpo’s future, with both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City reportedly interested in the Dutch forward.
Liverpool is also pursuing a right-winger and has explored options such as Yankuba Minteh from Brighton and Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace. Barcola, who joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for £38.5 million, has an impressive trophy cabinet, including three Ligue 1 titles and two Champions League trophies.
With Gakpo's status uncertain, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola expressed his desire to retain the 27-year-old. Barcola’s signing, a record for a player departing Ligue 1, is a significant boost for Liverpool’s attack, especially following the exits of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah over the past two seasons.
