Luke Littler Falls Short Again in Players Championship Quest

Luke Littler's ambition to secure a spot in the Players Championship finals has taken another hit after his defeat to Brendan Dolan in the semi-finals of PC28 held in Leicester. This marks a continuation of challenges for the reigning world champion, who had hoped to capitalize on his recent performances.

Despite advancing further than in the previous event, where he lost in the quarter-finals to Jermaine Wattimena, Littler still could not clinch the title. The championship ultimately went to Luke Humphries, who triumphed over Dolan with an 8-6 win.

After the event, Humphries praised Littler's dominance over the past 18 months, declaring him deserving of the world number one title. Although Littler moved up in the rankings from 141st to 125th, he still faces an uphill battle to qualify for the finals in November, trailing behind the 64th position by £16,750.
