In a significant move towards enhanced security cooperation, Pakistan and Malaysia have agreed to form a joint working group within their interior ministries. This initiative, aimed at combating terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and illegal immigration, was discussed during talks between Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Malaysia’s Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The two nations also explored collaboration between their police training institutions and discussed increasing tourism and streamlining visa processes for Pakistani travelers. Naqvi expressed optimism that this visit would mark a pivotal moment in bilateral relations.

Additionally, during a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, Ismail emphasized the importance of a united front against human trafficking and smuggling networks, underscoring the strategic alliance's potential to bolster regional security.
