Pakistan Prolongs Airspace Ban on Indian Flights Until September 24

By Editor • August 19, 2026 • 1 min read

Pakistan has announced an extension of its airspace ban on Indian aircraft, which will now last until September 24. This decision was communicated through a Notice to Airmen (Notam) released by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

The ban, which took effect on August 23 at 10:15 AM, prohibits all Indian-registered aircraft and those operated by Indian airlines, including military flights, from using Pakistani airspace. This restriction applies to both Karachi and Lahore flight information regions.

The airspace closure originated in April 2025 amid rising tensions following a violent incident in Kashmir, and Pakistan has repeatedly renewed the ban since then.
