PCB Protests Airing of Imran Khan's Sons' Interview During Test Match

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally expressed its displeasure regarding the broadcasting of an interview with Imran Khan's sons during the second Test match against England at Lord’s. This controversial interview aired during a rain delay on Thursday, drawing attention to the former prime minister's deteriorating health while in custody.

The PCB initially contacted Sky Sports to voice their objection and warned that players might refuse to take the field after the lunch break if the segment was aired. Despite a brief delay, Sky Sports proceeded to broadcast the interview in full, and Pakistan's team resumed play shortly after.

While the PCB chose not to comment further, it is reported that they considered escalating the issue to the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Concurrently, Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins joined other former international captains in advocating for Imran Khan to receive adequate medical treatment, emphasizing the need for a complete medical assessment as ordered by the Supreme Court.
