Raheem Sterling Faces Court for Dangerous Driving Charges

Raheem Sterling is set to appear in court next month following serious allegations stemming from a car crash in May. The former England international, who played for Feyenoord, faces charges of dangerous driving and possession of nitrous oxide for wrongful inhalation.

The incident occurred on May 28, 2026, when Sterling crashed his Lamborghini into motorway barriers on the M3 in Hampshire. He was arrested at the scene but was later released on bail as investigations continued.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed that Sterling will appear at Basingstoke magistrates court on September 15. While the police suspected he was driving under the influence of drugs, this allegation has not led to formal charges.

After a challenging period in his career, including stints at Chelsea and Feyenoord, Sterling has been without a club since leaving the Dutch side.
