Randy Quaid Critiques Tom Cruise's Casting Choice for 'Days of Thunder 2'

Randy Quaid has taken aim at Tom Cruise over the casting of Anne Hathaway in the upcoming sequel to 'Days of Thunder.' Quaid, who starred alongside Cruise in the 1990 original, suggested that Hathaway is an unsuitable choice for the film, arguing that the role should go to Nicole Kidman, who played a neurosurgeon and love interest in the first movie.

In a post on social media platform X, Quaid stated, “We need Nicole back. Don’t be a pussy, @TomCruise. It’s not personal; it’s filmmaking. Anne isn’t sexy, and if you haven’t noticed, she’s pregnant.” He emphasized that if he were in charge, he would cast Kidman for a more appealing sequel.

Despite Quaid's harsh remarks, many of his followers defended Hathaway, with some pointing out the contradictions in his views on politics in Hollywood. The sequel, directed by Jonathan Levine and produced by Cruise, is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2028.
