Filmmaker Zack Snyder is set to unveil his latest project, The Last Photograph, during a special event screening at the Toronto Film Festival on September 12. This indie film marks a departure from Snyder's typical blockbuster fare, focusing instead on a gripping tale of revenge and redemption.
The film stars Stuart Martin and Fra Free, who previously collaborated with Snyder in Rebel Moon. It centers around an ex-DEA agent's quest to rescue his missing niece and nephew after the violent murder of their parents. As they traverse the treacherous South American jungle, they confront both external threats and haunting personal demons.
Despite being in development since the mid-2000s, The Last Photograph has yet to find a distributor, making its TIFF debut particularly significant. Snyder, who co-wrote the script with Kurt Johnstad, originally conceived this story long before his ventures into the DC universe.
