Rollo Robotics, an Estonian startup, has unveiled the 1Rollo, a unique monowheel robot designed specifically for security purposes. This innovative device, reminiscent of the BB-8 droid from Star Wars, boasts a single wheel that simplifies production and enhances battery efficiency due to reduced rolling resistance.

The 1Rollo's slim design enables it to patrol narrow corridors effectively. It supports various surveillance tools, including cameras, thermal imaging, night vision, and audio communication systems. However, its inability to navigate stairs may limit its versatility compared to traditional multi-wheeled robots.
