Sacha Baron Cohen Revives Ali G in Upcoming Film

Sacha Baron Cohen is set to make waves once again as he resurrects his iconic character, Ali G, in the upcoming film "Ali G: Who Iz I?" This new project, scheduled for release on October 23, marks Cohen's return to the role that first launched his career into the spotlight.
The film, which was announced in July, will showcase Ali G's unique style of man-on-the-street interviews, a format that has proven to be both humorous and provocative. In a characteristically cheeky Instagram announcement, Cohen quipped, "Dey haz finally made a documentary about me… dis one haz got at least twice as much animal sex."
Cohen's portrayal of Ali G, a British character who comically appropriates elements of hip-hop and Caribbean culture, first appeared on Channel 4's "The 11 O’Clock Show" in the late 1990s and grew into a cultural phenomenon with "Da Ali G Show." Following the show's end in 2004, Cohen occasionally reprised the role but "Who Iz I?" will be his first full-length project in over two decades.
