Samsung Galaxy Watch9: Minor Upgrades with Familiar Design

By Editor • August 14, 2026 • 1 min read

The Samsung Galaxy Watch9 may not have the flash of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2, but it introduces some noteworthy enhancements. The most significant change is the transition to the Snapdragon Wear Elite SoC, moving away from Samsung's Exynos. This upgrade aligns the Watch9 with the Ultra2, offering improved performance.

Battery life sees a slight boost as well; the 40mm model now houses a 390 mAh battery, up from 325 mAh, while the 44mm version sees a modest increase from 435 mAh to 445 mAh. Both sizes remain unchanged in design, featuring a 1.34-inch display for the 40mm and 1.47-inch for the 44mm.

Besides the hardware tweaks, the Watch9 introduces new health and fitness tracking capabilities, although many users might find the overall experience reminiscent of previous models.
