Colombian director Sebastián Múnera's debut feature film, "Meteorite," has been picked up by MoreThan Films ahead of its world premiere at Venice Critics’ Week from September 2 to 12.
The narrative centers on Tefa and Nia, a couple living near the Magdalena River, who embark on a risky venture to smuggle cellphones into a nearby prison. Their adventure unfolds within an amusement park that once belonged to a drug lord, where unsettling memories surface amidst the playful surroundings.
Queralt Pons Serra, managing partner at MoreThan Films, praised Múnera’s unique vision, highlighting the film's captivating visuals and emotional depth. Múnera, a recognized visual artist, has previously showcased his works at prestigious film festivals and received numerous accolades, with "Meteorite" already earning awards at work-in-progress events in Málaga and Cartagena.
