Severe Rainfall Triggers Level 5 Emergency Warnings in Japan

The Japan Meteorological Agency has raised the alarm with Level 5 emergency rain warnings for parts of Toyama and Ishikawa Prefectures. The warnings, issued at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, affect the city of Himi and several areas in Ishikawa, including Hakui and the towns of Shika, Hodatsushimizu, and Nakanoto.
Torrential rains have led to significant rainfall totals, with Himi recording 211 millimeters and Hakui close behind at 210 millimeters over a six-hour period. Authorities are urging residents to take immediate precautions against potential flooding and landslides.
