On August 20, 2026, Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong engaged with a delegation of Indian ministers at The Istana, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations. This meeting precedes the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), where key topics include advanced manufacturing, digitalization, sustainability, and connectivity.

The Indian delegation led by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also includes External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State for Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada. Wong expressed enthusiasm on social media about the discussions with the Indian ministers, emphasizing the importance of building on the progress made through ISMR.

As Singapore and India enjoy a longstanding partnership, Wong highlighted the significance of addressing both regional and global developments during their talks. He wished the ministers a productive visit as they prepare for fruitful discussions at the ISMR, which is a vital platform for fostering cooperation in emerging sectors.

According to a joint statement from Singapore's ministries, the ISMR will assess the outcomes of the previous roundtable held in New Delhi in August 2025 and explore new avenues to advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Roadmap. The Singaporean side is represented by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong, alongside other senior officials.

Since its inception in 2022, the ISMR has served as a crucial venue for enhancing economic partnership, with Singapore recognized as the largest source of foreign direct investment in India for the fiscal year 2025-26.
