Stripe Set to Acquire AI Startup OpenRouter for Over $7 Billion

Stripe has reportedly reached an agreement to acquire OpenRouter, which specializes in providing AI model selection for diverse client needs. This comes after OpenRouter raised $113 million in May, valuing the startup at $1.3 billion.
With 8 million users and access to over 400 AI models, OpenRouter's CEO, Alex Atallah, previously likened the service to Stripe for its unified access approach. Bloomberg now confirms the acquisition price exceeds $7 billion.
