The U.S. Supreme Court has once again dismissed President Donald Trump’s appeal regarding a civil case brought by writer E Jean Carroll, stemming from allegations of sexual abuse dating back to 1996.
This decision, announced on Monday, follows a prior rejection in June, confirming that Trump is liable for both sexual abuse and defamation against Carroll. Following the court's ruling, Carroll received a judgment of approximately $5.8 million.
Carroll's attorney, Roberta Kaplan, expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court's decision, emphasizing that the jury's unanimous verdict is final. Trump, who has continuously denied the allegations, has described Carroll in derogatory terms and is currently appealing another related judgment of $83.3 million awarded to Carroll in 2024.
