The eagerly anticipated Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, designed by MAD and set to open in Los Angeles on September 22, 2026, will be complemented by an impressive two-volume publication from Taschen. This monumental release aims to chronicle the museum’s extensive collection of visual storytelling artworks.

Situated on a sprawling 13-acre site in Exposition Park, the museum showcases a diverse array of materials that span centuries, cultures, and artistic mediums. The accompanying tome, edited by Jessica Hundley, features contributions from George Lucas and acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, both known for their mastery of narrative-driven visual art.

The two volumes encompass genres ranging from sci-fi to children’s literature and graphic novels, highlighting significant artists like Thomas Hart Benton and Norman Rockwell. The publication also delves into the world of Star Wars with concept art and production designs, reflecting Lucas’ influence. In addition to the hefty Classic Edition, a more compact 45 Edition and a pocket-sized Piccolo edition will be available, offering fans various ways to engage with the museum's rich artistic heritage.
