Marsh’s illustrious career included stints as an editor for Creem and contributions to major publications like Rolling Stone and the Village Voice. He gained acclaim for his 1979 biography, Born to Run: The Bruce Springsteen Story, which he revisited several times, most recently in 2003. Jim Rotolo, his long-term co-host on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio, confirmed his passing via social media, reflecting on Marsh’s remarkable literary contributions that spanned over 25 titles.
Springsteen himself paid tribute to Marsh, describing him as a “true Rock ‘n’ Roll lifer” with a passionate and spirited approach. He recalled how Marsh’s support meant everything to him, emphasizing his character as one of commitment and integrity. Marsh also co-founded E Street Radio, where a special tribute will air on August 19 at 10 AM ET.
