Dave Marsh, the esteemed music biographer and critic renowned for his groundbreaking work on Bruce Springsteen, passed away at 76 in his Connecticut home on Friday.
Marsh's influential 1979 book, "Born to Run: The Bruce Springsteen Story," was pivotal in chronicling Springsteen's rise from a local musician to an international star. Jim Rotolo, host of SiriusXM's "The Wild & The Innocent," confirmed the news and reminisced about Marsh's extensive contributions, which included over 25 published works and roles as a rock critic for Creem and Rolling Stone.
In addition to his work on Springsteen, Marsh wrote about legends like the Beatles and Black Sabbath, and helped launch "E Street Radio." His legacy extends beyond music; he founded the Kristen Ann Carr Fund in memory of his daughter, who succumbed to cancer in 1993.
