Trump to Commemorate 9/11 Anniversary at Pentagon

President Donald Trump will observe the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks at the Pentagon, as confirmed on August 28, 2026. This decision comes as Vice President J.D. Vance is set to represent the administration at the New York ceremony, while other officials will attend the memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

During an exchange with reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump clarified his absence from the New York event, stating, "Because I’m going to the Pentagon." In a social media post, he reflected on the significance of 9/11, calling it a day to honor the victims and their families.

Last year, Trump marked the anniversary at the Pentagon, recalling poignant moments from that tragic day. Although originally from New York, he last participated in the ground zero ceremony in 2024.
