Ukrainian Man Arrested for Sabotage Plot Linked to Weapons Cache Near Berlin

A 24-year-old Ukrainian named Vadym S. has been identified as the architect behind a weapons cache discovered in a forest near Berlin, according to Der Spiegel. German intelligence suggests he was linked to a group allegedly tasked with executing sabotage missions across Europe under Russian orders.

Vadym S. reportedly traveled from Poland to Berlin on October 1, 2025, to retrieve two packages containing firearms and ammunition, which he subsequently hid in the cache. Following this, he returned to Poland and then moved to Romania, where he was arrested on October 16 after leaving incendiary devices at a Nova Poshta branch in Bucharest.

Alongside him was another Ukrainian, Bohdan Filipchuk, both believed to have origins in the Kherson region. Previous reports indicated that the duo had been receiving instructions from Russian intelligence, although the Russian Embassy in Germany dismissed these claims as mere speculation. The investigation remains ongoing, with German officials noting the cache may have been intended for use by Russian operatives.
