In a bold move leading up to its landmark stock market debut, China’s Unitree has introduced a cutting-edge robot named "Superman." This innovative machine is set to launch in Shanghai just days after the company raised 6.1 billion yuan ($905 million) through an initial public offering.
The Hangzhou-based firm, recognized as the largest humanoid robot manufacturer globally, developed the Superman in just over three months. The robot can jump 2 meters and sprint at 12.66 meters per second, showcasing its impressive capabilities.
The Shanghai listing, scheduled for Wednesday, coincides with the World Robot Conference in Beijing, amplifying interest from investors. The IPO was met with unprecedented demand, being oversubscribed by more than 8,000 times among retail investors.
Unitree's founder, Wang Xingxing, has gained significant attention after his participation in a technology summit with President Xi Jinping, further boosting the company’s profile. With backing from tech giants like Tencent and Alibaba, Unitree is poised for a successful market entry.
