Venice Forum to Explore the Future of Creativity with Star-Studded Panel

Next month, Venice will host a significant forum focused on the evolving landscape of creativity, coinciding with the renowned film festival. Titled "The Future of… Creativity," this exclusive event is presented by Finch & Partners and CAA.

Set for September 4 at the historic Scuola Vecchia della Misericordia, the forum will feature a lineup of prominent figures, including George Clooney, who is also set to receive the Golden Lion for lifetime achievement at the festival. Joining him will be Maggie Gyllenhaal, serving as jury president, along with Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat and notable personalities like Giuseppe Tornatore, Cardinal Jose Tolentino de Mendonca, and visual artist Marc Quinn.

The initiative aims to delve into pressing questions regarding creativity amid rapid technological advancements, particularly the impact of artificial intelligence. Artistic director Alberto Barbera emphasized that storytelling has always evolved with technology, and AI could represent a pivotal shift in this ongoing narrative.

Claire Ingle-Finch, managing partner at Finch & Partners, expressed the importance of discussing how storytelling adapts through generations. "In 2026, the form is changing again, and artificial intelligence is that change," she noted, highlighting the need for open dialogue among those deeply invested in storytelling.

Co-head of CAA Media Finance, Roeg Sutherland, pointed out that such forums unite cultural shapers dedicated to preserving art while embracing innovation. "This gathering in Venice expands on meaningful conversations about harnessing technology to deepen creativity," he added, reflecting on the successful discussions initiated during the Cannes event earlier this year.
