Vermeer's Iconic Masterpiece Visits Osaka for Possibly Final Time

Osaka is set to host the 17th-century painting "Girl with a Pearl Earring" starting this Friday, marking a rare international exhibition for Johannes Vermeer’s celebrated work.

Displayed at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, this exhibition may be the last chance for Japanese audiences to see the masterpiece, as its home at the Mauritshuis in The Hague undergoes maintenance until September 20.

Martine Gosselink, director of Mauritshuis, emphasized the significance of sharing the artwork with Japan.
