As the fall film festival season approaches, excitement is brewing among cinephiles. On the latest episode of The Run-Through podcast, Vogue's deputy editor Taylor Antrim welcomed fellow editors Liam Hess and Lisa Wong Macabasco to discuss their most anticipated films set to premiere at the Venice, Toronto, and New York Film Festivals.
With a few films already screened, the trio highlighted James Gray’s upcoming thriller, Paper Tiger, featuring Adam Driver, Miles Teller, and Scarlett Johansson. Lisa remarked on the film’s extravagant wigs and accents, while Taylor pondered in his group chats whether Driver truly qualifies as a great actor.
The conversation also covered a variety of other films, including Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s French-language debut All of a Sudden, Cristian Mungiu’s legal thriller Fjord, and the action-packed Hope, starring Hoyeon from Squid Game. Each editor shared their top two festival picks, with Liam leaning towards Possible Love and Primetime, Lisa favoring Bucking Fastard and Misty Green, and Taylor excited about Ink and Magazine.
In addition, podcast host Chloe joined Marley Marius to discuss the anticipated return of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to the UK and their recent film viewings.
