Watters Defends Trump Amid Ossoff's Controversial Comments About Aide

By Editor • August 19, 2026 • 1 min read

Fox News host Jesse Watters has come to former President Donald Trump's defense following remarks made by Senator Jon Ossoff concerning Trump's aide, Natalie Harp. During a recent episode of The Five, Watters downplayed Ossoff's jab, asserting that Trump has made far worse comments in the past.

At a Georgia rally, Ossoff insinuated that Trump prefers to travel with Harp rather than fulfill his presidential responsibilities. He remarked, "He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar," referring to a recent incident where Trump had to switch from Air Force One to a military aircraft.

Watters dismissed Ossoff's comments, stating, "To suggest that Trump surrounds himself with attractive women, yeah, I think he’s done that his whole life." He emphasized that he was not offended by the remarks and highlighted that Trump has been known to make even sleazier comments about others.

Ossoff also mentioned in an interview that he had heard Harp referred to as Trump’s “security blanket.” Harp is considered one of Trump’s most loyal aides, often found by his side, and has expressed deep admiration for him through personal letters.

Responses to Ossoff's comments have varied, with some conservatives expressing outrage. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung criticized Ossoff for his remarks, while others defended Trump's record on women in politics.
