Yabloko Party Faces Harassment Amid Ongoing Police Intimidation

By Editor • August 19, 2026 • 1 min read

Yabloko party chairman Nikolai Rybakov has called for an end to the harassment of citizens supporting his party, following protests outside Russia's Supreme Court on August 10 and 17. In a recent statement via Telegram, Yabloko noted that while most of the detained individuals were released without charges, police have continued to target supporters at home.

Rybakov condemned this intimidation, asserting that no actual demonstrations occurred outside the court as citizens merely sought to exercise their rights. He emphasized the importance of halting these aggressive tactics immediately.

Despite being barred from the State Duma elections on August 10, which was upheld on appeal a week later, Yabloko's supporters gathered to show solidarity. Reports indicate that at least three supporters faced administrative arrests days after their court appearances, accused of participating in unauthorized rallies.
