He voiced apprehensions about the potential impact of Musk's connections to HBO Max amid its ongoing corporate battles, particularly as it relates to the film's release. The filmmaker's remarks come after Musk's attorney, Alex Spiro, sent a letter alleging misrepresentation of facts in the documentary, specifically regarding accusations that Musk manipulated his Starlink satellites to influence the upcoming presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. In response, Gibney's production company, Jigsaw Productions, defended their commitment to factual storytelling, asserting that their work embodies the principles of journalistic integrity protected under the First Amendment.
